It would help if they got email addresses correct - even after telling them. I live in the heart of England. I have never hired a car from Hertz in the USA. I received several emails giving me instructions about picking up my hire car (including some personal details of the hirer). On each occasion, I attempted to correct the company. And now, they want me to post a review of my experience! Unbelievable. What concerns me most is not my receiving these emails but realising that their genuine customer never received anything at all about his/her transaction. I hope they got their car OK. I'll bet that now I have posted this review someone will contact me. :-) Too late! But we shall see. It's so simple to use what is called "double opt-in". Ie, check the email address is the right one before posting sensitive information to it. Bad ITC Hertz! Stephen Bell (Retired marketer.)

We reserved a full size vehicle for our quick trip down to W Palm Beach. When we arrived, there were two customer service reps, one of which was running from his station to the other trying to appease both customers. Four more customers were in line and each one was told "we have no cars available" and "the wait time was going to be two hours". By the time we were helped at the service counter, same story, no car...but, we can upgrade you. We HAD to have a car because we had a time commitment upon arrival so we took the upgrade - went from a Malibu (or like kind) to a Ford Escape (smallest SUV on the lot). Next thing I know, $114.30 upgrade charge later, we drive out of the lot. Totally unacceptable - we reserve a car, you expect to get a car upon arrival. If there is nothing available in our reservation category, then give us a free upgrade to the small SUV. What was a $70 reservation for two days turned into $184 and the vehicle was at best, the same size, maybe smaller than what was ordered. Never again dollar, never again.

They forgot to fill up half of the tank … and they charge us to fill to other half pretending it was our job to verify. If you don’t fill the car properly, what’s else you do not verify properly for our security and safety?

We had to wait over an hour for our car to be ready. Our flight was an hour delayed already and then to have to wait for an extra hour for a car that reserved for 2 hours prior is very disappointing. They washed it and gave it to us dripping wet so once the drops dry we weren’t able to see out of the windows well and had to wash them ourselves. The pick up process was very disappointing.

After waiting in line for over an hour to get an agent, we were told to go outside and our car would be ready in 15-20 minutes. How would we get our car? We were supposed to look for the model and color of the car and it would have its flashers on. Well there were several other people waiting. We finally saw what we thought was our car and no one else was claiming it so we decided to take it. At that point, we saw the agent who helped us (apparently they were extremely short on help and the agents were doing everything including bringing cars out to the customers). We showed the agent our receipt and pointed to the car and he said that was our car. Our receipt did not have a clearly defined license number so we couldn’t confirm. When we got inside, we realized that the car’s mileage did not match our receipt. We had already loaded the car and were exhausted at that point after traveling all day and then waiting for a car. But I thought we should double check because it just didn’t seem right. My husband went back inside and asked the agent a second time if that was our car and he said yes. When we get to the exit gate, our paperwork did not match the car we were in and had to go back to the lot. As it turned out, we ordered a full size car and the one we had was an intermediate. But, it only had 8k mileage whereas the full size car we were supposed to get had 43k. My husband went back inside and asked if we could jut keep the car we had. They changed the paperwork and off we went. Our flight landed at 4:30 and we were leaving with our car at 7:45 so it was now dark. After we got on 95, I noticed what looked like a small hole/crack in the windshield. At that point we were not going back again. We called Budget the next morning to report the damaged windshield and also that we paid for a full size and got an intermediate due to the debacle at the agency. They gave us a $100 credit. But we ended up driving a smaller car than we wanted for two weeks not to mention the frustration with the whole process.

I tried to cancel the rental car four hours before my rental but was not allowed to. The rules say I can cancel the rental up to two hours before. I was within the timeframe but still not allowed to cancel

The rental car company was in an old hotel building that was out of business. It was a small office in an obscure location. Had I been a single woman alone, I would have been concerned. A different location would help to improve business. The staff members were efficient and friendly. The car was a good value, but smelled like smoke.

There is very little to compliment. The staff tried to do their best but the policies are unfavorable. There was a long - VERY long - wait for both checking out and returning. The line gets long because the ease of checkout is lame. There are excessive policies that must be explained and excessive signatures to agree to them. Irritating indeed it is to rent a Full-size care and get a mid-size. And have an agreement of unlimited miles and be told it will cost 49 cents a mile for every mile over 150 for a day. I fault Hotwire for connecting me with a rental agency that does not agree with their claims. I will never consider renting from Easirent again. I will gladly pay a lot more for an agency that is convenient.

Terrible. I ended up having to book through another rental car company. The shuttle never came and I called multiple times, waited well over an hour on the curb. They kept saying it will be there soon. There is no signage in the airport, it seemed like a scam. There were quite a few employees at the airport that said this is normal operating for Easirent.

they charged me a $36 bogus charge. they gave me a car at 1/4 tank and I returned it at 1/4 tank. i even took a photo at pick up and they argued it was full.
